Our Newest Addition

Meet Maya! Maya is our newest addition to the Foss family! We adopted her from our vet's office last month. Our vet rescued an entire litter of puppies and Maya happened to be one of them. The litter was going to be put down and our vet deiced to take them in to see if he could find homes for these sweet little pups. I could not resist when I saw her! She is very sweet and loves to cuddle. She has already doubled in size while living with us. I wish I could just press the pause button and keep her as a tiny puppy! Maya and Whiskey are getting along and love to play together. Maya hopes to meet you soon!

Mary Charles Duggins

As most of you know, my sweet little niece Mary Charles was born on December 7th, 2011. She was born very early and it was a very scary and stressful time for all. We are so thankful that she is doing well and continuing to get stronger each day. She is now over 3 pounds which is wonderful news! We continue to pray every day for her to keep getting stronger, so she can leave the hospital in March. My sister Megan and her husband Wade, are already great parents! They are the strongest people I know and Mary Charles is lucky to have them as parents. I can't wait to see Mary Charles in just a few weeks! Please continue to pray for my MC!

Football Chili

Tyler's Mom gave me a Southern Living subscription for one of my Christmas presents last year, and I have been waiting to try this recipe! We made this Chili on Sunday and it was delicious!! A Saturday or Sunday is the perfect day to make this dish, because it needs to simmer for a few hours.

Makes 8 to 10 Servings
Hands-on: time 25 min
Total time: 2 hrs and 30 min

2 lbs ground chuck
1 medium sized onion, chopped
3 to 4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 to 2 tsp ground red pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 (14.5 oz) can beef broth
1 (12 oz) bottle of dark beer
3 (8oz) cans tomato sauce
2 (15 oz) cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chilis, undrained
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Cook first 3 ingredients in a 5 to 6 qt. Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 8 to 10 minutes or until meat crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well, and return to dutch oven. Add chili powder and next 3 ingredients; cook 1 minute. Add tomato paste, add and cook 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for two hours.

Enjoy!

Soooo yummy! Top with your favorite toppings and your ready to go!!

New House

Hello Everybody!

It's been a while since my last blog post, but things have been very busy for us. We finally closed on our house the weekend of our one year anniversary. We are thrilled to be out of the apartment and into a house!  Not to mention, Whiskey loves it too! She is becoming more and more of an outside dog! We can hardly keep her in the house these days. We are still getting settled, but are well on our way! Here's a look at what we have done so far! I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Pictures of the outside of the house!

THe back yard aka Whiskey's play ground!!

When you come through our front door, the office is on your left. We are still working on this room. We haven't had a chance to hang any pictures in this room, because our furniture just arrived this week!

When you walk through our front door, the dining room is on your right. We still need a dining room table and chairs, but this will give you an idea of the room!

The Sun Room and down stairs bathroom are off of the main hall way, along with a coat closet that is not photographed.

We are still working on the fabrics for this room.

Next, is our family room and kitchen area. The kitchen and family room is all one open area.

Family room...

Ignore the plastic wrapped around the curtains. When the pictures were taking we had just hung the curtains and had to leave the plastic for five days.

This is the view looking down from upstairs.

Third guest room (for now this is my office and I have not had a chance to do much to it) My brother in-law gave me his desk to use in there and I'm on the search for a cute book case! (not photographed)

Next, we have our master bedroom and bathroom. We are having a bed skirt made and pillow to match the curtains. I am also going to make a sitting area (I still need a round table to put between the two chairs)

We are still trying to fill some of the rooms and are in the process of buying pictures and art work for the walls, but now you have an idea of what our house looks like! I hope you enjoyed the pictures and our door is always open for visitors!!! :)
